Senate Could Ease Health Law Vendor Form. . . The U.S. Senate is expected to take up a Form 1099 reporting requirement in the health law that has small businesses up in arms when it reconvenes in September. Small businesses say a requirement in the health law that they submit a Form 1099 any time they make a payment to an individual or unincorporated entity for healthcare goods will create a paperwork burden. The provision takes effect in 2012. If the Senate passes the amendment in its current form, the requirement would apply only to businesses with more than 25 employees. For more info contact Linda Goold, 202/383-1083.
