About Us

Welcome to the Williamsburg Area Association of REALTORS®.........

              Your Trusted Real Estate Advisors

The Williamsburg Area Association of REALTORS®, the Voice for Real EstateTM in America's Historic Triangle is part of the tri-level organization of the national, state and local associations of REALTORS®.  As the local Association, we strive to be the collective force influencing and shaping the real estate industry.  The Williamsburg Area Association of REALTORS® seeks to be the leading advocate of the right to own, use, and transfer real property; the acknowledged leader in developing standards for efficient, effective and ethical real estate business practices; and valued by highly skilled real estate professionals and viewed by them as crucial to their success.  Working on behalf of America's property owners, the Williamsburg Area Association of REALTORS® provides a facility for professional development, research and exchange of information among its members and to the public and government for the purpose of preserving the free enterprise system and the right to own, use, and transfer real property.

All real estate licensees are not the same. Only real estate licensees who are members of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® are properly called REALTORS®. They proudly display the REALTOR "®" logo on their business card or other marketing and sales literature. REALTORS® are committed to treat all parties to a transaction honestly. REALTORS® subscribe to a strict code of ethics and are expected to maintain a higher level of knowledge of the process of buying and selling real estate. An independent survey reports that 84% of home buyers would use the same REALTOR® again.

Real estate transactions involve one of the biggest financial investments most people experience in their lifetime. Transactions today usually exceed $100,000. If you had a $100,000 income tax problem, would you attempt to deal with it without the help of a CPA? If you had a $100,000 legal question, would you deal with it without the help of an attorney? Considering the small upside cost and the large downside risk, it would be unwise to consider a deal in real estate without the professional assistance of a REALTOR®.

Like finding the right house, selecting a REALTOR® you can trust and comfortably work with is paramount. Just as you wouldn't be casual in the selection of your doctor or your attorney, you shouldn't take the selection of your REALTOR® lightly. Indeed, the best way to find such a professional is through recommendations from family and friends. Of course, you should interview several REALTORS® before you choose one.

The Williamsburg Area Association of REALTOR®S is a professional trade association of over 400 licensed real estate agents.  Our members abide by a strict code of ethics and have access to a wide variety of business services that are not available to non-REALTORS. This gives them a competitive edge in the marketplace, enabling them to provide superior services to buyers and sellers of real property.   One of the most valuable tools only available to REALTORS® is a state-of-the-art MLS (Multiple Listing Service) which provides accurate, current information about the local market and more. Through the Williamsburg Multiple Listing Service (WMLS) REALTORS® have access to many "Value Added Services" which may not be found elsewhere.  And, ever serving our members, the WMLS has become part of a new venture – the Commonwealth MLS Co-op – which launched March 1, 2016, and greatly expanded the footprint of the area covered.

Use this site to find a REALTOR®, find out the current status of home sales or to compare home prices in a neighborhood in which you may be interested.  Whether you're buying, selling or renting, look to our web site for details that will help make the process simple. Please visit us often and tell your friends about us, too.
